A note from the founder

Hi! Nice to meet you - I'm J, and I'm an artist.

The music industry is in a bit of a fucked up place. Layoffs everywhere, lots of disgruntled artists going independent, and AI causing all sorts of instability.

There are more platforms than ever aimed at bringing actionable data, analysis, and business management to music industry managers, agents, labels, lawyers, etc.

But not a single one specifically aimed at artists... a massive oversight in my book.

There are more artists/creators than ever before and the trend isn't slowing down… Tens of millions of artists run their business with no dashboard, no benchmarking, and no contract analysis.

So what's my story and why would I want to build one? Well, to be honest it's personal. A lot of tech startups are founded by people who want to build tech but don't come from the world they're solving problems for - they struggle to find ‘target users’ to find out what their ‘needs’ are to ‘solve a problem’. Very Silicon Valley tech bro stuff.

As an artist from the other side of the pond, who has been underinformed, mismanaged and left to work it out myself, I built something I wish I'd had when I started out.

It already has changed my life and those of artists around me. None of us had ever had access to information like this and it's helped us navigate some really tricky situations. Situations that would have left me feeling lost in the past.

Artists are often made to feel like they work for their agent, their manager, their label, when in reality it's the opposite.

Everyone knows an artist is the CEO of their small business, except them. That's why I called this platform CEO.

I believe that the music industry is leaving billions on the table every year by allowing artists to go uninformed about their business, and sign things they shouldn't. Lack of information leaves artists anxious, directionless, and squandering their potential.

CEO gives artists the data and insights they need to understand their business, in a way that doesn't overwhelm them.

Streaming, contract analysis, social media impact and tailored social plans, touring budget calculators and more. The stuff they need to make informed decisions. It has long been said that artists don't want to deal with ‘the business side’ of music (convenient for some), but in 2026 the liberty to leave your business to other people is long gone. We are growing and iterating every day to provide more empowerment to artists and their teams, and this is just the beginning.

For artists who can't afford a team yet, we're giving you tools that will help you understand the lay of the land, and grow.

For artists who have a team - these tools are meant to strengthen your access, your understanding, and therefore your relationship with the people you trust.

Welcome to CEO. I hope you enjoy this thing.

All my love,

J
